1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Arda Demir Yıldız, an independent developer established in Türkiye, who makes and publishes Hidden Spend ("Hidden Spend", "we", "us"). They cover the Hidden Spend iOS app and the Hidden Spend website.

You can reach us at support@hiddenspend.app.

By downloading, installing or using the app, you accept these Terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use the app — and if you've already installed it, delete it.

Because Hidden Spend has no accounts and no server, there is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign out of. Your agreement to these Terms is shown by your use of the app.

Effective date: 4 August 2026.

2. What Hidden Spend is

Hidden Spend is a personal record-keeping and reminder tool for recurring subscriptions.

You add each subscription yourself — the name, the price, how often it bills, and when it renews next. From there the app gives you:

• a running total of what you're paying monthly and yearly
• a record of when a price you've entered goes up, kept alongside the subscription
• a calendar view of upcoming renewal dates
• an archive, so a cancelled subscription becomes history rather than disappearing
• CSV import and export
• a home screen widget, Face ID app lock, and optional local notifications
• recognisable brand logos, so your list is easy to scan

That's the whole job. It's a clear, honest picture of the money quietly leaving your account every month — built from what you tell it.

Where your data lives

Your subscription data is stored locally on your device. There is no Hidden Spend account, no login, and no server of ours holding your information. The only off-device copy is whatever ends up in your own iCloud backup, which sits under your Apple account and Apple's terms, not ours.

Face ID app lock is handled entirely on your device by Apple's LocalAuthentication. We never receive, see or store biometric data — Apple doesn't share it with us. Notifications, if you turn them on, are scheduled locally on your device.

We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and there are no third-party analytics or ad SDKs in the app.

If you buy Hidden Spend Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple and the resulting receipt is handled by a third-party payment processor, so the app knows what you own. That is the only company other than Apple that receives anything, it receives a transaction rather than your subscriptions, and it happens only if you buy. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what it covers.

3. Two things Hidden Spend does not do

This is the most important section in this document. Please read it properly.

3a. Hidden Spend does not connect to your bank, cards or payment accounts

There is no bank linking. No card linking. No Plaid-style connection, no read-only account access, nothing. Hidden Spend has no access whatsoever to your real financial accounts and cannot see a single actual transaction.

Everything the app shows you is what you typed in. If you enter a subscription at the wrong price, the total will be wrong. If a subscription is charging you and you never added it, the app has no way of knowing it exists — it stays invisible, which is exactly the situation we'd all like to avoid, and exactly why adding your subscriptions carefully matters.

3b. Hidden Spend does not cancel subscriptions for you

We cannot cancel anything on your behalf. The app has no ability to contact a provider, close an account, or stop a charge.

Reminders, renewal dates and recorded price changes are informational only. They're a nudge — the actual cancelling is always your own action, taken directly with the company you're subscribed to (or through your Apple ID settings, if it's an App Store subscription).

So, plainly: we are not responsible for a charge you wanted to avoid, a cancellation window you missed, a reminder that didn't reach you in time, or a renewal that went through. Notifications can be delayed, silenced by your device settings, or missed entirely. Please don't treat Hidden Spend as your only safeguard against an unwanted charge.

3c. Accuracy depends on you

Totals, renewal dates and recorded price changes are only ever as accurate as the information you've entered and how up to date you've kept it. If a provider changes its price or billing date and you haven't updated the entry, Hidden Spend won't know. Price changes are noticed only when you edit a price yourself — the app isn't monitoring the outside world, and it doesn't notify you when a price goes up.

3d. Not financial advice

Hidden Spend is a tracking tool, not a financial adviser. Nothing in the app — no total, alert, chart or summary — is financial, budgeting, tax or investment advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to keep or cancel any particular subscription. Those decisions are yours. If you want advice about your finances, please speak to someone qualified to give it.

4. Your side of the deal

Using Hidden Spend, you agree to the following.

Enter accurate information. The app is a mirror. Keep your entries current — prices, renewal dates, billing frequency — because everything the app tells you is built from them.

Keep your device secure. Your data lives on your device, so your device lock, passcode, Face ID and iCloud account are what protect it. We can't recover your data if you lose your device or your backup, because we never had a copy.

Be old enough. You must be at least the age of majority where you live, or have permission from a parent or guardian to use the app.

Use it lawfully and normally. Don't use Hidden Spend for anything unlawful, and don't reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, resell, redistribute, rent or sublicense the app or try to extract its source code — except where the law where you live specifically gives you that right regardless of this clause.

What we give you is a personal, non-transferable licence to use Hidden Spend on devices you own or control, for your own personal use.

5. Hidden Spend Pro

Hidden Spend Pro is not yet available to buy. Nothing in the app is for sale today, and no purchase can be made. This section sets out the terms that will apply when Pro goes on sale, so they are on the record before anyone is ever charged.

Hidden Spend Pro is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks the paid features. The free app works without it. You never have to buy it.

5a. It is not a subscription

This matters enough to say on its own. Pro is a single purchase, made once:

• There is no recurring charge. You are billed one time and never again for it.
• There is no renewal date, so there is nothing to diarise and nothing that can quietly bill you later.
• There is nothing to cancel. There is no subscription to turn off, because none was ever started.
• There is no free trial, and no trial period that converts into a charge.

If you have used other apps where "Pro" means a subscription, none of that applies here.

5b. Billing

The purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store, and charged to your Apple Account once at confirmation of purchase. We never see your card number or billing details.

5c. It stays yours

The unlock is permanent and tied to your Apple Account, not to a device. You can:

• reinstall the app and get it back,
• move to a new iPhone and get it back,
• use it on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.

Use Restore Purchases, in Settings or on the Pro screen, to bring it back at no cost. Restoring is always free — you are never asked to pay twice for the same unlock.

Because there is no subscription, deleting the app does not start any billing you then have to stop. It just deletes the app.

5d. Price and price changes

The price is shown in the App Store in your local currency, including any applicable taxes, and can vary by region.

We may change the price for future buyers. A price change never affects a purchase already made: what you bought stays bought, at the price you paid, and you are never asked for a top-up.

5e. Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple's policies. We cannot issue refunds directly, because we never receive your payment — Apple does.

To request one, go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account, or contact Apple Support. If something has gone wrong, do email us at support@hiddenspend.app anyway — we can't refund you, but we'd like to know what happened, and we can point you in the right direction.

5f. What is free, and stays free

The free version is a real, working app, not a timed demo. It tracks up to eight subscriptions or bills, and everything it does it keeps doing indefinitely. That includes the thing the app is for: your monthly total, the renewal calendar and reminders are all free, and the deeper spending breakdown on the Stats screen is part of Pro.

Nothing bad ever happens to your data. If you never buy Pro, you keep every subscription you've entered, your archive and your history, for as long as you use the app. We do not delete, lock or hold anything hostage to make you buy.

Getting your data out is not a paid feature and will not become one. Whatever else Pro does or doesn't include at any point in the future, exporting your own subscriptions to CSV stays available to you without paying. That is a commitment, not a description of how the app happens to work today — it is also how you exercise the data-portability right described in the Privacy Policy, and a right you have to pay for is not a right.

6. What belongs to whom

6a. Ours

The Hidden Spend app, its name, the ghost, all the mascot artwork, the design, the code and the website content belong to us and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. These Terms give you permission to use the app — they don't transfer ownership of any of it to you.

6b. Other companies' logos

Hidden Spend shows real brand logos for recognisable services so your list is easy to scan. Those logos and brand names remain the property of their respective owners.

They're used only to help you identify your own subscriptions at a glance. They do not mean any of those companies are affiliated with Hidden Spend, sponsor it, endorse it, or have anything to do with it whatsoever.

6c. Yours

Your data is yours. The subscriptions you enter, your archive, your notes — all of it belongs to you. We don't claim any rights over it, and we couldn't do anything with it if we wanted to, since it never leaves your device except through your own iCloud backup.

CSV export exists precisely so this stays true in practice. You can take your data out at any time, in a format any spreadsheet can open. No lock-in. If you decide Hidden Spend isn't for you, you leave with everything you put in.

7. Availability and changes to the app

Hidden Spend is provided as-is. It's a small app maintained by a small operation, and we're honest about what that means:

• Features may change, improve, or occasionally be removed.
• We may modify or discontinue the app, in whole or in part.
• Which iOS versions we support may change over time, usually following Apple's own support windows. An older device may eventually stop receiving updates.
• Local notifications depend on iOS and your device settings, and we can't guarantee delivery or timing.

If we ever discontinue the app entirely, your data stays on your device — it doesn't depend on us being around. We'd suggest exporting a CSV all the same.

8. Warranties and liability

8a. What we promise, and what we don't

We build Hidden Spend carefully and we want it to work well for you. But we can't promise it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate, and we can't promise it will meet every expectation you have of it. To the extent the law allows, Hidden Spend is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.

Some places don't allow certain warranties to be excluded. If you live somewhere like that, this section applies to you only as far as your local law permits, and your legal rights as a consumer are untouched.

8b. Limits on what we're responsible for

To the extent the law allows:

• We are not liable for money you spent, lost or failed to save because of a subscription you forgot to cancel, a reminder that didn't arrive or arrived late, a renewal that went through, an incorrect total, or any other reliance on information you entered into the app.
• We are not liable for data loss caused by a lost, damaged or reset device, a failed iCloud backup, or an app deletion. Your data lives on your device — we have no copy to restore.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you actually paid us for Hidden Spend in the 12 months before the issue arose — which, if you've never bought Pro, is nothing.

None of this limits liability that can't legally be limited, and none of it affects mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.

9. Ending things

You can stop using Hidden Spend at any time, for any reason, by deleting the app from your device. There's no notice to give, no account to close, no exit interview.

Because Pro is a one-time purchase, there is nothing to stop before you go: deleting the app cannot leave a charge running behind you. If you reinstall later, Restore Purchases brings the unlock back for free.

We may end your right to use the app if you seriously breach these Terms — for example by using it unlawfully or trying to reverse engineer it.

Sections 3, 6, and 8 continue to apply after you stop using the app.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms — to reflect new features, a change in how the app works, or a legal requirement.

When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top and post the current version on the Hidden Spend website. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll make a reasonable effort to flag it in the app or on the site rather than letting it slip by quietly. We're not going to ghost you about it.

Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't accept them, delete the app.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye, where the developer is established, and disputes may be brought before the courts of Türkiye.

That said — and this matters more than the sentence above — nothing here removes or limits any mandatory rights or legal protections you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live, including your right to bring a claim in your local courts where that law gives you one. Where your local consumer law conflicts with anything in these Terms, your local law wins.

If something goes wrong, please email us first. Most problems are a misunderstanding, a bug, or something Apple needs to fix, and all three are faster to sort out by email than any other way.

12. Apple-specific terms

Because Hidden Spend is distributed through the App Store and these are our own terms rather than Apple's standard ones, Apple requires the following to be stated. They are set out plainly here rather than buried, because several of them are genuinely useful to you.

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for Hidden Spend or its content. We are solely responsible for the app.

What your licence covers. You get a non-transferable licence to use Hidden Spend on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions — including the sharing allowed under Family Sharing or volume purchasing, where those apply.

Support is ours, not Apple's. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Hidden Spend. Support requests go to support@hiddenspend.app, and we answer them.

Warranties. Any warranty claim about the app is ours to answer. If the app fails to conform to a warranty that applies to it, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation of any kind in relation to Hidden Spend, and any other claim, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense arising from a failure to conform to a warranty is our responsibility.

Claims about the product. We, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with any claim you or a third party makes about Hidden Spend or your use of it. That includes product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar law.

Intellectual property claims. If anyone claims that Hidden Spend infringes their intellectual property rights, we — not Apple — are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.

Where you are. By using Hidden Spend you confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or one the U.S. Government has designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Third-party terms. You agree to comply with any applicable third-party terms that govern your use of the app — for example, your wireless carrier's terms.

Apple can enforce these Terms. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and when you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

Who we are. Hidden Spend is published by the developer identified on its App Store listing, who can be reached for support and for any claim at support@hiddenspend.app.

13. Miscellaneous

If a clause fails. If any part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

No waiver. If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.

Whole agreement. These Terms, together with the Hidden Spend Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the app.
